The Future Saints are a rock band, fronted by Hannah Corltand, and have a record deal, and have had moderate success. Theo Ford is sent by the label to be their new manager after Hannah’s sister Ginny died 10 months ago. Hannah has not gotten over her death and talks to her like she is still alive. The band is playing in a small club when Theo shows up, and it’s not going well, until they play a new song, which ends up going viral. Hannah was determined to quit the band after the show, but Theo convinces her not to, especially after the label threatens to sue them for the last album they owe. We follow the band on tour over a number of months, with highs and lows, and the lifestyle of a rock band. Theo has his hands full with them, and there is an attraction between him and Hannah. He finally gets the band to finish the album, has a falling out with the label, and has to be there when Hannah gets foolish, all leading to Grammy nominations for the new album, and the band figuring out their future. The story is told in alternating chapters by Theo and Hannah, and various press articles and fan reactions. This is a well-written story that shows what life in and out of a band is like. As far a music novels go, this is a great one.
