The Harper and Wells families have been bitter enemies for a long time. They both have psychic abilities and one family, the Hapers, uses them for less than legal reasons, while the Wells will use them for legal and non-legal reasons. There is one thing that binds the families together, a pact to keep their powers from ever falling into the wrong hands. When Luke Wells goes looking for his Uncle Duke at his cabin, he discovers something bad has happened there and that he was sleeping with Bea Harper. Luke then reaches out to Sophy Harper for help in finding out what happened at the cabin and what is going on with their families. She has a vision of the killer, and the two, along with his dog Bruce, are headed to Arizona, hoping to find their relatives. What they find is it is a place where people are trying to rebuild the secret psychic weapons that the two families are trying to protect. Along the way, Luke and Bea might just find love and end the feud between the two families. The characters are top-notch, and following their story is enthralling and page-turning. This is another great psychic novel from author Krentz, who never disappoints with these novels.
