Chloe is 31, lives at home, has a job she doesn’t really like, and hasn’t had luck with men in years. Then she runs into a friend who tells her about a dating service called Perfect Partners. She fills out the forms and goes in for an interview with the owner, who introduces her to Rob, who is handsome, smart and nice and seems too be to perfect. Then she learns the truth, he is an AI humanoid robot, programmed to be the perfect man for Chloe. She gets a free tryout with him, and then gets the invite to her college reunion at Oxford, and decides to take him as her boyfriend. It’s there she will have to face her former best friend, Sean and John, another close former friend. When she gets there, Rob is a hit with everyone she talks with Sean and hangs out a bit with John, and soon learns he has been in love with her for years, and she just may feel the same way. This is a fun rom-com, with the android offering comic relief and being too good to be true. At its core, it’s about finding yourself and love, when you’re ready to give up. Author Sophie Cousens never disappoints.
