Sara has been friends with Dina, Allie, Wesley and Bree for over 20 years, dating back to their time at Harvard. Today, they are meeting to discuss the Circus, a game they play every year, where they fake-kill each other until one stands tall. This time, there’s a lot of money at stake. What complicates things is that Sara, who narrates this book, swears she has seen Claudine, who died 20 years ago, under mysterious circumstances. As the game starts, there’s danger all around. It appears that the others may not be playing fair, with dangerous things taking place, shocking reveals, and who survives this game that is supposed to be friendly, but may turn deadly. This is the debut novel from author Lee, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a twisty, dark novel that you will not want to put down. This is one not to miss.
