Harriet Foster is still dealing with the events of the last book when she’s out walking and finds two bodies in a public park. One is dead, and the other, a female, Ella, is barely breathing. It turns out her Uncle Matt is a cop who works with Harriet. More bodies turn up, and it is soon learned that a new drug, edge, is hitting the street. Harriet and her partner, Vera, are on the cases, looking to find out where the drugs are coming from. We learn the Gamon family is running the drugs, and the youngest member of the family is having the drug made, and trying to fine-tune it so people will not die. It ends with a Gamon family showdown, and Harriet finally gets the evidence she needs to hopefully bring them down. This is the fourth novel in the series, and it’s another good one. The police action, and Harriet working on her issues, get a lot of play in this book. Fans of the series will enjoy this one.
