Arthur and Sal are a married gay couple and run the Iris Inn, in Trident Falls, Oregon, and they are vampires, who have been around a long time. Business hasn’t been good since they opened, and they face prejudice from some in town, including the mayor. When Nora Anderson, who was hired as the new city manager, arrives at the inn, they hope things will change. That night, the inn hosts a wine night, and the mayor is expected, but never shows up. The next morning, he’s found dead in the garden, with puncture wounds in his neck. Afraid they’re being set up for the murder, they decide to investigate, with the help of a werewolf barista and an elf, they go on the offensive to make sure they’re not charged with the murder. This is a fun novel, with quirky supernatural characters, a fun plot, and snappy dialogue. Hopefully, there will be more adventures with these characters.
