The setting is the small town of Cinnamon Springs, and Eva Woods grew up here. Eight years ago, she kissed her best friend, Maddy’s brother, Aston, and it was quite the kiss, until Aston turned into a jerk and broke her heart. Today, she owns a successful donut shop. When Maddy announces she’s getting married, she asks Eva to be her maid of honor and to help out with the wedding, along with Aston, who is the CEO of the family business, working with his horrible father. Seeing him brings back the hurt she suffered back then, and seeing how hot and cocky he is doesn’t help. He is attracted to her and decides that he will have her for himself. The two try to outdo each other helping out with the wedding, and soon they are fooling around and having hot sex (with some steamy scenes). They fall for each other, but keep it a secret from Maddy until after the wedding. The day of the wedding, all hell breaks loose, and things fall apart for everyone, and now Eva may have to deal with a broken heart again. This is a fun, steamy story that hits all the right notes. The banter between Eva and Aston is great, with some LOL moments. A perfect rom-com to start fall with.
