The setting of the book is a small, magical town in Scotland, called Briarhaven, where all magic is accepted. In the year 1713, a young prince picked Bonnie MacGregor, and a scorned witch put a curse on the MacGregor family, and ever since, the family has had to move around from place to place after misfortune would follow them. Today, the three MacGregor sisters, Lyra, Nova, and Sloane, who is turning 25 and will receive her magic, have returned home, where their Grandmother Broca still lives. She thinks the three girls together can break the curse. Knox Douglas, the handsome provost, wants them gone, as he has the town running smoothly as a tourist destination. Once the girls arrive, a bad snowstorm arrives and never lets up. The two knew each other as younger kids, and there’s an attraction between the two, and soon they start having hot sex. He decides he doesn’t want her to leave after all, and the girls and their coven work together to try and break the curse, once and for all. This is a fun, magical rom-com, with two people you root for to be together. With a strong supporting cast, including animals who can communicate with their owners. The second book in the series will be out soon and focus on the younger sister, Lyra.
