Annie Andrews is the owner of the Gingerbread Bakery, and Mac owns the bar down the street. They went to school together and were never friends. She thought he was too full of himself. After they graduated, they became close, dated, had sex and fell for each other, even though Mac was leaving town to find himself. They were supposed to meet up a year later, but he never showed up and broke her heart. Now, today her best friend is getting married, and they’re both in the wedding, and her hatred of him is showing. He tries to make things good between them he is still in love with her, but she rebuffs him. When they’re forced to work together to help out with the wedding, she starts seeing a new, mature side of him, and maybe they can put the past behind them and start new. This is a delightful, fun story, with two characters you root for to be together. Fans of rom-coms will enjoy this one.
