Frankie Elkin goes where people need help. All she has is a bag and herself to help someone who has gone missing. Her latest case takes her to Tucson, Arizona, and a missing Afghan woman, Sabera Ahmadi, who has a daughter and a husband. She left three weeks ago and hasn’t been seen since. The police don’t believe anything is wrong, and that’s where Frankie comes in. Then Sabera’s husband vanishes, her little girl is with a neighbor, and someone tries to kidnap her. Later, Sabera is seen on video at the murder of two men, and shortly thereafter her husband is found dead. The police are now involved, and it turns out there’s a lot more going on, leading to a climactic showdown, involving a python, named Marge, and an iquana, named Patunia, who Frankie is in charge of this is the fun part of the book. This is an intense 4th novel in the series. It starts off in Afghanistan, and when the US pulled out, the fallout for the character of Sabera in the United States. Lisa Gardner is once again at the top of her game.
