Eight years ago Callum Macabe sees Juniper Ross on the train in Edinburgh and falls in love with her right away. When they get to their destination he finds that she has a boyfriend, his brother Alistair. Then three years later he dumps Juniper and she vows never to get involved with a Macabe brother again. As fate has it they live right next door to each other today. He’s a veterinarian and she is running her mother’s B&B and they have a love/hate relationship. He still wants her and she is standoffish towards him. They snipe at each other and he goes out of his way to help her out with whatever she needs. He trades doing work for her for 4 dates and with each one they get closer and closer and start fooling around. They soon fall for each other and have sex times but they haven’t gone public yet. Each has their own issues going on in their lives, his father has dementia and she has issues with her mother. As much as they care for each other these issues could drive them apart. This is a fun rom-com with great characters. The sexual tension between them is off the charts and watching them fall for each other is a treat. A perfect summer beach read.
