Eliza and Marco are engaged to be married until he breaks up with her and kicks her out of the apartment they live in together in San Francisco. She finds out about a place called Juneberry Lake, a small town in Minnesota, that is also on the border of Wisconsin and moves there to a small cabin on the water. When she gets there she finds it beautiful and welcoming and meets Joel, who has just moved there himself. Her neighbors are friendly but guarded and when she starts asking questions about the previous owner of her home, Erica, people don’t want to talk about her. When a private investigator shows up looking for Erica it only peques her interest and she teams up with Joel, who she is getting close to, looking for answers. This is a story of new beginnings, mystery and life in a small town. Watching Eliza start over is refreshing and fun. Throw in some fun dogs and you’ve got a perfect beach read.
