Hattie Norwood, who lives in Charlotte, has returned to her small hometown of Mountain View, South Carolina, to be with her parents when they learn their farm is no longer good for farming. She only plans to be here for a few days and she learns the Carolina Panthers are planning to build a stadium and Mountain View is one of the locations being looked at. The town is fighting it and wants her to sign a petition, but she is for the stadium. While in town she sees her ex Lee, who broke her heart years ago. She’s also asked to help plan a big event to help fight the stadium, which she agrees to do. She works with the hunky Fox and Lee’s band is providing the music. She reconnects with Lee and they declare their love. The benefit goes off well and then Lee gets an offer for his band and Hattie has to figure out what she wants and what man she wants. This is a fun small-town novel, with some quirky characters, a love story and characters you root for and which man you want Hattie to be with. A perfect summer beach read.
