Meg’s life is literally going to the dogs. It’s time for the Mutt March, where they have a parade and march dogs and other animals, in hopes of getting them adopted. All the dogs are at her place, more than 200 of them and there’s an online rumor about dog poachers looking for dogs to fight. On this day she is at her brother Rob’s house supervising workmen digging up the ground for a duck pond. The workers uncover an arm of a dead person and now there’s a mystery as to who this person is. Then more body parts are found. The police are on the case and her father is doing DNA testing and it may be one of the dreaded Pruitts. When Rob’s mother-in-law Iris goes missing, it leads Meg to where she is staying and their lives are in danger, someone wants something owed to them and won’t leave without it. This is the 37th novel in the series and another good one. All our favorite quirky characters are back and it’s a good shoutout for pet adoption. Fans of the series will be happy with this one.
