The year is 1896 and Leo Hardy does what he can to take care of his mother and five sisters, who live in a small one-bedroom apartment in Boston. His father died many years ago from drinking too much, after being fired from his job working for the rich Pendelton family in New York. Their young daughter was kidnapped in 1880 and two years later he was a prime suspect. When Leo hears Josie Smith singing in the street he offers to be her manager, claiming he can help make her a star. What he really thinks is she could be the long-lost baby, she looks a lot like the mother of the baby. His plan is to get her near her and hopefully claim the reward money that is still available. When Leo and Josie fall for each other, and have hot sex, he decides not to go through with his plan, which blows up in his face when his friend decides to go through with it. This ruins their relationship and it leads to a shocking reveal and then Josie sees Leo in a new light. Will she be able to forgive him? This is a fun, sexy novel, with two characters you root for. Throw in some hot sex scenes and this is a perfect end-of-the-summer book to read.
