Charlotte Sitterly lives in Juniper Shores, in the south, with her husband Bill and their daughter, Iris, who is 14. When Bill is suddenly arrested for mishandling his client’s money, their house is seized and their assets are frozen. She gets an offer to move into Alice’s house, where she takes in women and their children to help them out. They become a family and the mothers and Alice all act like mothers to all the kids. Charlotte, who knows her husband is innocent, does everything she can to help prove it. We follow along with the residents living in the house, an internet blog that shares all the gossip in town and everyone rallies to help get Bill out of jail. This is a great character-driven novel, that only Author Harvey can write. The friendships and family that all these characters become is a pleasure to read. Each chapter is told by a different character and they’re many shocking twists and turns. This is a perfect Memorial Day beach read.
