Maya is returning to Princeton for her ten-year reunion and to see his sister Naomi graduate, but gets a shocking call when she gets there, Naomi is dead, she drowned and the police think it was an accident. Both Maya and Naomi were members of a secret society club at the school. Via flashbacks, we learn about Naomi’s life leading up to her death and also about Maya’s life when she was at school. Just what happened to Naomi and can Maya keep her own secret and stay alive in the process? There’s a reason this is Reese Whitherspoon’s book club pick, it’s an intense psychological thriller, that starts off strong and never lets up. Fans of these kinds of novels will enjoy this one.
