Eilean Eadar is a small island, off the coast of Scotland, home to about 250 people, most of them islanders (have lived their since they were born) and others are considered mainlanders (and not like very much). When an 18-year-old named Alan is found dead, having jumped from the lighthouse on the island, it’s considered a suicide. Detective Inspectors Georgina Lennox and her partner Richie are sent to the island to investigate and find things there are a bit strange. Everyone knows everyone, nobody seems to know anything and they can’t find any information that the death was anything but suicide, yet Georgina can’t shake the feeling it was more, and discovers someone is watching them. The night before they’re to leave, she finds shocking information about what’s been going on all these years on the island and her life is in danger, and she may never be able to leave the island alive. A tense psychological thriller that starts off fast and never lets up. The two lead characters have a great chemistry together and twists and turns enhance the story. I wouldn’t mind reading more moves with the Inspectors.
