Abby Cohen lives in Vermont and owns a coffee shop that is barely making enough money to survive. Every morning she has regular customers, like Seth, who is always happy and for some reason annoys Abby. She’s also part of the tourism board for the town, and the only Jewish person on the board. Abby is put in charge of a new Hanukkah festival, the town has decided there are too many Christmas festivals. She looks for help and Seth, who is Jewish says he will help her, he has connections, if she will pretend to be his fake girlfriend for a week, when he goes home to his parents in New York, to celebrate the holiday. She agrees and they start to hit it off, and soon fall for each other, but Abby has issues she needs to overcome and has to decide if she can open her heart and let love in again with Seth. This is a fun rom-com, that gives great insight into Hanukkah, and what the holiday is about. At its core it’s about family, friendship and love. Fans of this kind of holiday love story are in for a treat. And you’ll be hungry for Latkes by the time you finish the book.
