Fifteen years ago Miranda Abbott was a big time TV star, and today she’s broke, and her agent has dumped her. She still acts like a star, a spooled brat, and is losing everything. She gets a postcard from Edgar, the husband she left years ago, but never divorced, and heads off to the small town of Happy Rock, Oregon, thinking he wants to be together, and they can reboot her old show, he was the writer on it, but he wants a divorce. Furthermore, she decides to stay in the town and try out for the local community play, which she thinks she will get the lead. She’s cast in a supporting role, and decides to do it. On opening night, one of the cast members is killed live as the show goes on, and now Miranda, and the cast and crew members are all suspects, and Miranda decides to investigate and find the killer. This is a fun start to this new series, Miranda is written as an over the top, snotty Hollywood star, and has some great lol moments. The supporting cast of quirky characters and the small town setting make for an enjoyable murder mystery.
