Kate Mulligan lost her husband Brian, and soon after inherited her uncle Stan’s orchard, and moves back to the area where she grew up to run it. She plans on opening up a cidery with the apples that are growing. With the help of her hand, Carl Randolph. She also is told by the estate lawyer that someone wants to buy the orchard for a great price, but she refuses. There are also similar offers out to other owners. When she finds Carl dead in his cabin, she is the first suspect, but is soon cleared. With the help of her hunky neighbor Daniel, and her friend Marguerite, she starts an investigation, and finds out why someone was willing to kill, and soon finds her own life in jeopardy. This is the first novel in this new series, and it’s a lot of fun. These small town murder mysteries are always good, have quirky characters, and usually a cute pet (this time a cat). Here’s to more adventures with Kate.
