Book Review: ‘Last Word To The Wise: A Christie Bookshop Mystery’ By Ann Claire

The Book Chalet is owned by sisters Ellie and Meg, in the Colorado Mountains, and is the setting for this second novel in the series. They’re both roped into doing a blind dates, for their cousin’s latest business, literary dating. Ellie gets a dud Professor, while Meg gets Joe, and they hit it off. The next day he doesn’t show up for their brunch date, and is soon discovered dead by Ellie, at the house he’s renting. Meg is one of the prime suspects. The sisters decide to investigate, and try and figure out who Joe really was, and it turns out he was a horrible person, and they have suspects of their own. When attempts are made on other people, the sisters need to step up the investigation, and Ellie finally figures out who is behind it, and it puts her life in danger. Fans of small town murder mysteries, and Agatha Christie novels, will enjoy this one, if for no other reason than Agatha the cat, who is an Instagram star, and very smart.
