Kylie has gone missing, and is presumed dead by the police. It usually means the first suspect is the husband. In this case, there are two husbands, Mark and Daan. She’s married to both of them at the same time, and living a double life. It has all come out now, and the police are investigating both of them. Stacie is with her father, having suffered with brain cancer, and now on the mend, but she has no memories of her life before now. As the police come closer to solving the case, everything we think we know is not what we know. Who is Stacie, and how does she fit into their lives, and it all leads to a stunning climax. There’s nothing better than an Adele Parks novel. This is actually a sequel to Woman Last Seen, which I didn’t read, and it’s not necessary to read, unless you want the backstory on the three main characters. This reads as a standalone, and is told from the point of view of various characters. With its many twists, a perfect holiday read.
You can pick up Two Dead Wives in stores on Tuesday, December 26th from MIRA.
