Book Review: ‘The Unfortunate Side Effects Of Heartbreak And Magic: A Novel’ By Breanne Randall

The Revelare family is a magical family, with each member of the family having some sort of magic, but with that also comes a curse. In the case of Sadie, who has a twin brother Seth, it is after four heartbreaks she will lose her magic, and she’s already had two. And now things are getting out of control for her, Jake, the man who broke her heart ten years ago is back, and her grandmother Gigi, who raised her, is dying of cancer, and Seth is back, after being gone for a while. Then she learns shocking family secrets, one is she and her brother should never have born, they are from dark magic, and Gigi had to make a sacrifice to protect them years ago, and now it’s time for them to pay the price for that once Gigi dies. She must figure out how to cure her curse within thirty days, or risk losing a loved one. This is a good debut novel from author Randall. Fans of magic, family, lost loves and intrigue will enjoy this novel.
