Book Review: ‘The City Of Stardust: A Novel’ By Georgia Summers

The Everly family has been cursed for over a thousand years, and each generation a member of the family is taken, and no one knows why or where to. Marianne is the current member of the family wanted by Penelope, a powerful god that needs her to keep on living, and hopefully unlock a door to her homeland. She has vanished and no one can find her. She had a secret daughter, Violet, that she left with her brothers to raise, but somehow Penelope has found out about her, and has given the family ten years and a day to find Marianne, or Violet will be taken. Once she finds out the truth about her mother, and the curse, she takes off around the world searching for her mother, and clues to break the curse before it’s too late, always being shadowed by Penelope and his assistant Aleksander, who befriends her, but is actually looking for information. As the day comes close for Violet to be taken, she has learned valuable information, and is ready to fight for her life, with a little help from an old family member. This is a real good fantasy debut novel, that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Fans of these kinds of books will be very happy with this one. A great way to start off the new year.
