Book Review: ‘The Recovery Agent: A Gabriela Rose Novel’ By Janet Evanovich

I love Janet Evanovich books (Stephanie Plum and Fox & O’Hare series) and now she’s back with a new series and an awesome new character in Gabriela Rose, her ex-husband Rafer and her family, including ghost Annie. This is a really fun ride, with a lot of LOL moments and a love/hate intense relationship between Gabriela and Rafer. In the series Gabriela is a recovery agent, she finds lost things for her clients and makes a good living doing it. She is told she’s an ancestor of the pirate Blackbeard and when her family town is destroyed by a hurrican, she goes on a treasure hunt to find a long lost buried treasure. First it means breaking into her old house, now owned by her ex and finding a hidden diary, which she does. Then it’s time to go treasure hunting for a magical ring and a treasure, her ex insists on going with her Their trip takes them to South America, New York and California. But they’re not the only ones searching and at each stop a drug lord is also looking for it and their lives are always in danger. But then the good guys decide to go on the offense and it is an all out battle to the death. I cannot wait for more adventures with these characters. It’s a rip-roaring fun time.
