Review By Lauryn Angel

Upon seeing the trailer for Studio 666, my immediate response was “Oh, hell yes!” A horror comedy starring the Foo Fighters? Sign me up! But would it be good? Or even, so-bad-it’s-good? Or would it just be bad?

The good news is, it’s the first one. Even though you wouldn’t think of any of these guys as actors first, they actually do a decent job. Of course, they are playing themselves, but themselves under unusual circumstances. They all did a great job, but Dave Grohl is clearly the star, and Pat Smear had some of my favorite bits in the film (but he’s my favorite anyway, so your mileage may vary).

In addition to the band members, the cast is rounded out by Brian Garlin as the band’s manager, Leslie Grossman as the real estate agent who sells the band on the haunted house, Will Forte as a star-struck delivery guy, and Whitney Cummings as the horny. There are also some pretty fun cameos.

The plot is somewhat predictable, but if you’re looking fyouoray an original plot, you’re watching this movie for all the wrong reasons. But if you want to watch the Foo Fighters acting silly and getting murdered by a demonic entity, this is the movie for you. There’s blood, gore, puns, dad jokes, and some decent special effects.

Even if you’re not a Foo Fighters fan, Studio 666 is a solid horror comedy and well worth checking out. I’m already looking forward to seeing it again, and I know it will be going into my Halloween horror movie marathon later this year, and for many years to come.
