Book Review: ‘City Of The Dead: An Alex Delaware Novel’ By Jonathan Kellerman

The 37th novel in the Alex Delaware series is another complex, thrill-ride of a story, as only Jonathan Kellerman can write. Alex is called in a new case by his friend and detective Lt. Milo Sturgis of the LAPD. Alex often consults for the department and this time it’s a doozy. A young, naked man is killed by a van in a post LA neighborhood. Then a beautiful blond named Cordelia Gannett is found dead in the house she rents, not far from the man. And Alex is shocked because he knows her from a custody case a two years ago. As they dig into the past of Cordelia and the naked man, it leads to a series of reveals and another murder, which is quickly solved, but has implications on the case of Cordelia and naked man. If you’ve read any of these novels before you know it follows a familar pattern and we get inside the minds of the people that Alex is around. It’s another well-written novel and if this is your first time reading, welcome to the club.

You can pick up City Of The Dead in stores on Tuesday, February from Ballantine Books.
