Isabel Morales must face her past in order to move forward with her life when her estranged mother, who has been in jail for the last 20 years, dies there. Now she must leave his rich Doctor Husband (where things haven’t been good) in Chicago and go back to the hills of West Virginia to put her mother to rest and settle her estate. Going back opens all sorts of childhood memories, including a brutal attack, childhood bullying and the rest of her estranged family and the memories of her late brother. But she must confront everything and then figure out where she will go forward. This is a well-written story, that will tug at your heart and leave your emotions all over the place, as you follow Isabel’s story and root for her.

You can pick up Flight Risk in stores on Monday, November 1st from Lake Union.
