In 1940 three women Beth, Osla and Mab are all recuited to work undercover for England against the Germans to help break codes. Beth soon discovers there may be a spy working amongst them and of course no one believes her. Soon suspicion grows on her and she’s locked up at Clockwell Sanitarium. And the three women are torn apart.
Now seven years later in 1947 as Elizabeth is about to Marry Phillip (who once dated Osla), Mab and Osla get cryptic notes that have to be from Beth. They go and see her and help her break out and decide to find out who the traitor was. As they investigate it brings them closer to the traitor and to possibly not surviving to expose the person.
Author Kate Quinn has been described as one of the Queens of Historical Fiction and for a good reason…she writes great novels! Kate has done a great job in her research and this story is a page-turned you don’t want to put down.
