An off the books assassin camp for young killers in jail classifed as Class A is the basis of this novel.
17 year old Signal Deere is in prison for the brutal murder of her former best friend, a murder she doesn’t remember. She has no memory of portions of that night to prove her innocence. Now she’s on a bus to a mysterious place to become a trained assassin for the next 17 years and then will get her freedom.
There’s a similar group of people already there and she soon meets Erik and they become friends and they both may want more. Erik knows about her case and is working with her to try and help her clear her name. He believes she is innocent of the murder and they start to make a little progress. Then they’re forced into emergency assisgnments before they’re really ready. This will be dangerous and may cost them their lives.
Plans are made once they are out from under the camp and Signal and Erik are going to try and find the evidence to clear her but things take a dangerous turn and they may not survive.
A solid thriller with characters you root for and some well placed twists and turns keep the reader engaged throughout the novel.
