Review by Lisa Payne
Tamara (Jaclyn Betham) and her two best friends, Maddie (Scout Taylor-Compton) and Brooke (Landry Allbright) plan a weekend girls’ trip to the lake.
The local yokels, father and his thick as pigshit sons, can never leave women alone without kidnapping them. Is there a special school for this? Merv (Lane Toran), Kib (Noah Lowdermilk) and Pa (Lane Caudell) are a cult that could have come straight out of Criminal Minds.
At the beginning of Getaway, the music ratcheted up the tension so much, I thought we’d do deep into Deliverance territory. Alas, it went a better way. Lane and Jaclyn are multi-tasking all over this movie.
