Nothing I like better than a great action adventure novel. In Reaper: Ghost Target authors and former Military people Nicholas Irving and A.J. Tata know of what they write. The story is fast-paced and full of action. It’s a page turner of a story that you won’t want to put down. It starts off fast and never lest up. It takes you on a ride right up to the climatic finale.
Vick Harwood is a bad ass sniper. He has taken down a lot of men in the last few months on his assignments. He also lost his spotter a few months ago. Now he is on his newest job with his new spotter Sammie. They are in Kandahar to take down a mercenary named Khasan Basayev. He has his shot lined up when he sees some women being taken and assaulted. He gets back to his subject and fires and misses. Somehow he knew he was there. He and Sammie are fired on and next thing he remembers is waking up in the hospital. He will recover but has some memory loss. Sammie is missing. He was found by Khasan and has been brain washed by him.
Months later Vick along with his new girlfriend Olympic winner Jackie Colt (who he is falling in love with). He’s been assigned to train new snipers. He is working out a lot but still suffering some blackouts (his memory is slowing returning as well). A mysterious sniper has his weapon named ‘Lindsay’ after his late foster sister and is killing Generals. This is happening in places where he is. Every time he goes somewhere new another person is murdered. Soon he is suspect number one and is on the run.
Soon he figures out who might be responsible for this and his past and people close to him might be part of the plan of what’s going on. He has to trust his gut and bring down the people that are responsible even if that means possibly implicating himself. One thing is for sure he is not going down without a fight.
You can go on the thrill ride when the book comes out on Tuesday, May 8th from St. Martin’s Press.
