Season Two of Big Little Lies continues the story of the Monterey Five (Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoё Kravitz) after Perry’s death. They have made a pact to keep the events of that night secret. And then Meryl Streep arrives in town as Perry’s mom Mary Louise Wright and starts asking questions. And she won’t stop until she knows the truth. She battles with Celeste throughout the season and even tries to take her kids away from her, which leads to an intense trial.
Bonnie has a tough decision to make when her mother gets sick. Madeline and Ed are having a rough patch in their relationship. Jane has to deal with her past as she tries to move forward with Ziggy and a potential new love. Renata’s live is falling apart as she learns they are broke and what a horrible husband Gordon is. By the end of the season someone wants to confess and the five join in unity as they head to the police station.
Another stellar season of the award winning show bolstered by an Emmy-nominated performance by Meryl Streep and the rest of the amazing cast. The season in perfect at 7 episodes and if you’re a fan of the first season and book, you will like this one as well.
