‘The Odd Way Home’ Trailer Starring Rumer Willis

Now released on iTunes, Hulu and Amazon THE ODD WAY HOME premiered at the Austin Film Festival, won “Audience Choice for Best Picture” at the Albuquerque Film Festival and has been widely embraced by filmgoers and the autism advocacy community including actress and mother of an autistic child Holly Robinson Peete who called it “An Amazing Movie!” and leading autism news outlet Autism Today who hailed the film as “spectacular.”

Rumer Willis stars as ‘Maya’ who is a product of childhood abuse and after being beaten senseless by her unstable boyfriend, she escapes her shattered life in Los Angeles and heads to New Mexico where she meets ‘Duncan’ (Chris Marquette), a high-functioning autistic twenty-something. He is socially awkward and a slave to pattern and routine, but a master of map-making and directions. Their picaresque road trip that follows teaches ‘Maya’ to care for someone else and takes ‘Duncan’ into a new world that is filled with unexpected surprises and hard realities that redefine the notion of family.
