‘Stephen King’ Mini-Series Weekends Begin Saturday On El Rey Network

This September, fall into terror when El Rey Network presents three classic Stephen King mini-series airing over three consecutive weekends. “The Stand” (1994) airs on Saturday, September 12th at noon and 8:00pm ET; continuing with “The Tommyknockers” (1993) on Saturday, September 19th at noon, 4:00pm, 8:00pm and midnight ET; and concluding with “The Langoliers” (1995) on Saturday, September 26th at noon, 4:00pm, 8:00pm and midnight ET.

Created in the early-to-mid ’90s, when long-form event television was king of the airwaves, these three spine-tingling mini-series feature the perfect mix of real-world and supernatural horror King fans love, plus an exciting roster of film and television stars, including Gary Sinise (TV’s “C.S.I.: NY,” Forrest Gump), Molly Ringwald (Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles) and Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation,” “The West Wing”) in “The Stand”; Patricia Wettig (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Thirtysomething”), Dean Stockwell (“Quantum Leap,” Blue Velvet) and Bronson Pinchot (“Perfect Strangers”) in “The Langoliers”; and Marg Helgenberger (“C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation”) and Jimmy Smits (“NYPD Blue,” “L.A. Law”) in “The Tommyknockers.”

After a deadly plague kills most of the world’s population, the remaining survivors split into two groups – one led by a benevolent elder and the other by a maleficent being – to face each other in a final battle between good and evil.
