Review: ‘The Forgotten Four’ On EPIX Tuesday, September 23

Review by Monique Thompson

The Forgotten Four is an EPIX original documentary telling the story of the first four men that broke the color barrier in the NFL. Perfectly named, many people have always heard of Jackie Robinson as the first black MLB player, but not very many people are aware of the story of Marion Motley, Bill Willis, Woody Strode, and Kenny Washington.

In this documentary, the relatives of these pivotal men recap their bravery and struggle growing up in a racial prominent America while becoming football stars and entering into the NFL. Their stories are told through images, archived video footage, and recollection from their family members, a few football legends, and others whom have researched them. No doubt, the bravery of these four men will go unforgotten after The Forgotten Four airs.

Airs on EPIX on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7pm CST/8pm EST
