SundanceTV’s critically-acclaimed series “Babylon” comes to a close on Thursday, February 12 at 10pm ET/PT. The six-part series, created and executive produced by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle and starring indie darling Brit Marling (Another Earth, Sound of My Voice, The East) and James Nesbitt (The Hobbit, The Missing) is a biting workplace satire set inside a modern police force and revolves around an earnest PR executive who attempts to modernize London’s law enforcement culture only to discover her certainties shattered and herself undermined in the murky realpolitik of contemporary policing.
In the finale episode, the Armed Response team returns to work after the conclusion of the internal investigation. Yet, when footage goes viral of Banjo destroying a trashcan prior to the nightclub shooting, civil unrest erupts. Sharon tries to appease the public by proposing to reopen the internal investigation, but her proposal results in a strike by the two police units. As protests mount in London’s barely policed streets, Inglis and Sharon go head to head to vie for the Commissioner’s job. When potentially explosive material lands on Liz’s desk, she must decide whether to play king or queen-maker to salvage her vision of transparency and openness.
