Review by Caitlin Zeigler
Jennifer (Denise Richards) goes with her family on a road trip, using an old RV that her father-in-law Charles (Greg Violand) bought. It’s a big deal for Charles to go on this vacation with his family, as they have been estranged for some time. Jennifer, Steve (Jeff Denton), Jay (Brian Nagel) and Olivia (Malika Michelle) are headed to their first destination before they come across some stranded people. They pick up Samantha (Mischa Barton) and Mark (Matt Mercer) without any hesitation. Unfortunately, strange things keep occurring within the RV and Samantha is the only one that notices something is weird. Although, she knows something is wrong, it is too late for Samantha to do something about it. The strange occurrences start off as just problems from an old RV. Then, when everyone gets stranded in the middle of nowhere, the problems get more persistent.
When Steve finds out the RV was owned by a serial killer who was murdered, Jay suggests that the killer is haunting the RV. As much as everyone wants to not believe that, they are getting picked off one by one. Can anyone survive the haunted RV known as ‘The Toybox’? This film is like any other horror film in that it’s not meant to be overly good or bad. It has its cheesy parts and questionable parts of the plot. For instance, why didn’t anyone leave when they first felt like something was wrong? With that being said, it is watchable, you shouldn’t expect it to be something it’s not and it still keeps you kind of invested in the story.
The ToyBox will be available nationwide September 18th on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, including Amazon Instant, iTunes, iN DEMAND, DirecTV, Comcast, Optimum, Dish, Google Play and more.
