Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, travelling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.
Fourteen years later and the Ice Age franchise is still ticking. Things start off with Scrat The Squirrel on his usual mission of keeping his acorn. This time, he gets hurled out of space and his mayhem during his hunt for the acorn causing a few problems for planet Earth. The planets start to shift, forming what we know today as the solar system. Unexpectedly, the shake up causes meteors to hurl towards the Earth, right towards our favorite Ice Age characters.
Throughout the film, the characters, led by Manny and Sid, must try to stop the meteor from wr cling havoc on planet Earth. Predictably, their journey will have plenty hiccups and mishaps while introducing a few new faces to the franchise.
While not the best from the franchise, this fifth installation is still solid enough that it wouldn’t be shocking if a 6th film was brewing. There are tons of funny moments, especially from Sid the Sloth and his ever so blunt Granny. As it’s always good to do, there’s plenty of innuendos that will grab the grown ups attention and the kiddos never knowing what’s happening. Ice Age: Collision Course shouldn’t disappoint and is just an all around feel good film.
