DVD Review: ‘Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip’

Review by Monique Thompson

Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

The Chipmunks are back in the forth installment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks series, which just might be the best one yet. With each installment in the series, the family of ‘munks just keep getting better and better. After the chipmunks realize they may be sent back to live in the forest if Dave proposes to his new girlfriend, they head to Miami where the couple is to stop the proposal before it happens. What’s a road trip without mishaps right….especially when Chipmunks are involved. Dave’s new love interest has a son, Miles, that terrorizes the Chipmunks along the way, as his desperation to stop his mother from accepting Dave’s proposal is just is high as the ‘munk’s.

The cross county road trip is a sure adventure, as the trio of chipmunks and Miles, stop along the way in cities such as Austin and New Orleans and definitely leave their mark. As usual, the music is one of the best parts of the film so the moment when the entire French Quarter of New Orleans is invaded with them performing the Robin Thicke hit Blurred Lines, you can’t help but want to get up to dance and sing along. These ‘munks know how to party this Road Chip is an adventure you don’t want to miss!
