DVD Review: ‘Afterlife: Season One’

The BBC has the best programming of almost any network. Most it usually airs on BBC America (for those of us that live in the United States). ‘Afterlife’ is another gem of a program. It ran for two years from 2005-2007.

It stars Andrew Lincoln (Strike back, The Walking Dead) as Dr. Robert Bridge, a teacher who’s skeptical of the paranormal that lives in Bristol and Lesley Sharp as Alison Mundy, a psychic who can talk to the dead. When Lesley moves to Bristol their worlds meet and he wants to prove she’s a fake. Robert decides to study her for a book he wants to write. She soon wants to help Robert come to terms with the death of his son (which he never has) after she starts seeing him.

The more he is around her, he starts believing that she may actually have psychic powers. As more people come to her to contact loved ones, it could be the end of her.

If you’re into mysterious, sci-fi type of TV shows, ‘Afterlife: Season One is for you. You can pick it up in stores on May 13.
