Review by Monique Thompson
In a magical kingdom fathoms below, we meet Ariel, the little mermaid who is tired of flipping her fins and longs to be part of the fascinating world on dry land. Joining her are Sebastian, Ariel’s crabby sidekick; Ursula, the evil sea witch; Triton, King of the Sea and the handsome and human Prince Eric. Based on the Disney animated film and hit Broadway musical, The Little Mermaid is making its Dallas RETURN to the Music Hall at Fair Park. So dive on in! Life is the bubbles, under the sea!
Either I’m biased to anything The Dallas Summer Musicals group puts on or they just can’t go wrong! Yet again, another solid performance by the entire cast and production team in this live version of the Disney hit The Little Mermaid. The fairytale, written by Hans Christian Andersen, has been around since the late 1800’s and amazingly is still making moves around the world. The musical version is just as entertaining as the film. The beautiful stage props and vibrant colors literally put you right “under the sea” with the characters that make the story one of the best fairytales of all time. Perfect for the entire family, The Little Mermaid The Musical is a great experience with one of the best casts yet.
