Dallas Theater Review: ‘Irving Berlin’s White Christmas’

Review by Monique Thompson

White Christmas is a musical based on the Paramount Pictures 1954 film of the same name. The book is by David Ives and Paul Blake, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin.

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, the musical, is sure to dazzle and wow audience members of all ages. On stage now as an add-on to the 2018 Dallas Summer Musicals season, the production is based on the 1950s classic film which starred Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.

The production provides plenty of holiday cheer through song and is a perfect way to ring in the holiday season. Opening night of the production drew a pretty diverse crowd of anxious viewers ready to kick off their holiday cheer. The narrative of the musical is just as the one from the film. From the dancing to the vocals, and the authentic energy coming from the cast, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is a delight and suitable for the entire family to enjoy.
