In July 1815 Napoleon was caught, a celebration is planned, and a shocking murder took place. Lady McInnis and her 16-year-old daughter have been shot and posed in a park. Sir Henry Lovejoy is on the case, and it’s exactly like another case 14 years ago, when his wife and daughter were killed the same way, in the same spot. At that time a man was arrested and hanged for the crime, who always claimed he was innocent. He calls in Sebastian to assist in finding the killer, and together with his wife Hero, starts an investigation. Then more bodies turn up, and it turns out Lady McInnis pissed off a lot of people with her causes, and had threats against her life. Someone doesn’t want Sebastian working this case, and makes it clear to him, who won’t be intimated, and is determined to find the killer. This is the 19th book in the series, and they just keep getting better. The team of Sebastian and Hero are two of favorites in all books. Fans of this series have another winner.
