Anya Marleigh is a 24-year-old singer, living in the palace, who sings for a living, in Queen Charlotte’s court. She gets summons for the reading of the will of Dowager Countless Budleigh, who she has sung for and is somewhat friendly with her family. She meets for the first time Damian Ashton, a distant cousin of the Ashton family, whose estate is next to the Budleigh’s estate. Anya is shocked when she finds out half of the Dowager’s fortune in her will. The only catch is she must marry by the time she turns 25, in four months, or the money goes to the executor, Damian. The Budleigh family is outraged and vows to get the money. Plans are set in motion to acute Anya and Damian of the murders, in order to get the money, and they must work together to clear their names. In the process they fall in love, neither one wanting to admit it, until Damian thinks he has been betrayed. Now he must not only clear his name, but win back the woman he loves. A solid, fun romance, with two characters you root for to be together. With some well time twists, you want to keep reading along to this story. Fans of these type of novels will enjoy this one.
