Jory graduated from college 7 years ago, works and saves her money, and takes off for adventures around the world. She gets this wild side from her mother, her father is rich, she wants nothing to do with his money or really his side of the family. She decides to take off for Greece and the island of Naxos and ends up in a small village called Potamia. On her first night, she meets Cressida, who is grieving the death of her husband a year ago and owns a guesthouse and taverna, and Jory is her first guest. Then Jory meets Mago and the three of them become good friends. The two women of the island have secret magical powers, they decide Cressida needs to move forward with her life and open the guesthouse and the taverna up to the public and Jory may even find love. This is a heartwarming, well-written, character-driven novel, with three strong females that you root for as you read along. This is the debut novel from author Palmisano, and it’s a winner on every level. Make sure to read on after the novel ends.
