Stella and Adam have been married for four years and are as happy as any married couple can be. They’re in Paris at the moment, part business trip, and all pleasure. Adam deals in collectibles and has a successful business in the United States and worldwide he sells stuff. When Adam goes back to the cafe to get his sunglasses, Stella hears an explosion, a bomb is set off and there’s no sign of Adam’s body, and he’s presumed dead. Stella doesn’t believe it and when the police show up, she’s in for more of a shock, her husband has been under investigation for dealing in stolen goods and has been working the black market. Determined to try and clear his name, she starts to investigate on her own, is being followed and soon learns shocking truths about the man she loves, he’s not who she thought he was. With nowhere to turn, Stella calls the one man she never thought she would talk to again, she has a secret past as well, and things soon come to a shocking climax. A solid thriller, with a great setting in Paris, that hooks you in right from the beginning and never lets up. Fans of these kind of novels will enjoy this one.
