Book Review: ‘The Last Applicant: A Novel’ By Rebecca Hanover

A twisty, soapy. psychological thriller, where nothing is as it seems with these three main characters. Audrey Singer is married to Luke, and has two kids. She’s the admissions’ director of a prestigious private school called Easton, where parents are always trying to get their kids into, with just few openings each year. Sarah has missed the deadline to try and get Eli in, and e-mails Audrey, who falls for her sob story, and lets her apply. From there, strange things happen. Sarah seems to be stalking Audrey, and in fact there’s a lot to what’s going on. Without spoilers, not everything is as it seems, twists and turns come fast, just who is playing who, and by the end of the novel, someone will be dead.

You can pick up The Last Applicant in stores on Tuesday, October 24th from Lake Union.
