Book Review: ‘The Island: A Novel’ By Adrian McKinty

I loved the last book by author Adrian McKinty (The Chain) and his new thriller is a pulse-pounding novel that starts off with a bang and never lets up. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put it down. This will be a short and sweet recap of the story to avoid spoilers. A family of four Tom the dad, Heather his second wife and step-mon to his teenage kids Olivia and Owen, are on a work-vacation in Australia for Tom’s work. They’re out seeing the sites and are told about a private island that would be fun to visit but no visitors are allowed. Tom pays enough money, along with an older couple and they just a few hours to explore. There’s an accident with one of the people that lives on the island and now hell will be unleashed on the six visitors. People will die and it will be a fight to the finish for the six strangers to get out the island alive. To say anymore would be spoilers, a perfect book to kick off your summer season, so just read it and enjoy the ride.

You can pick up The Island from Little Brown on Tuesday, May 17th.
